From one idea to protecting thousands of dogs and cats

2015

It all starts in Berlin, when Philipp Krause and Julian Benning launch dentolo, a dental insurance company that would later become getolo.

2019

Following its success, insurance group Zurich acquires getolo, which includes partnering with the German insurer DA Direkt.

2021

petolo launches in Germany with fully digital health insurance for pets.

April 1, 2025

Bonjour, France! petolo enters its first market outside Germany. The French call us patolo.

May 1, 2026

¡Hola, Spain! petolo arrives in Spain – and our very first customer is a little dog called Archi.

petolo helps protect the health of more than 150,000 pets across Europe. Our international team has grown to more than 280 people, with five insurance products across three countries.
